Hard to believe that a year has passed since Niamh McDowell was crowned All Ireland Scór na Óg solo singing champion. it has been a very busy year for our talented young songbird culminating in her singing " Amhrán na bhFiann " in Croke Park before the All Ireland Ladies' Gaelic Football final which was televised and broadcast worldwide. She 's taken part in man events and has been recognised by many organisations for her outstanding achievement among them being our very own Newry Mourne and Down District Council. Throughout this year she has proved to be a very humble, down to earth and accomplished performer who's acredit to her parents Cathy and John, her entire family her school St.Louis's Kilkeel and our Club . Maith Thú Niamh We're all very proud of you and you'll always be our Champion. It's fitting that one of her last outings was here in South Down at the Scór Sinsir final in Mayobridge on Sunday evening opening proceedings with " Amhrán na bhFiann " .
