I should have been writing this week about how talented all the competitors were and how tight the competitions were in this year's South Down Scór na nÓg final , instead the entire Scór community was shocked to learn about the sudden loss of Nicole Fegan from the Mayobridge Club in a tragic accident on Saturday Afternoon.
Nicole was on stage twice on Friday night in Mayobridge. As a mark of respect to her fellow-Mayobridge competitors and the entire South Down Scór Family the decision has been taken to postpone Sunday's South Down Final until next Sunday 26th. Consequently the County Final will be postponed until 3rd December. We thank Wiliam James Smith our County Cultural officer in assisting with making these decisions. All of us here in Glasdrumman extend our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the Fegan family and to our friends in the Mayobridge Club. May God give you all the comfort and strength for the tough days ahead. Rest in Peace Sweet Angel Nicole. I bParthas na ngrást go raibh sí.
