Translink Ulster GAA Coach of the Year Award

November 15, 2017

Aughlisnafin GAC club coaching officer, Gerard Lenaghan, who was also a volunteer coach for the Down GAA Mourne Stars u13 development programme last year, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Translink Ulster GAA Coach of the Year Awards.

Following a call out for entries he was nominated and a panel of judges including Armagh Football Manager Kieran McGeeney, Ulster GAA PRO Michael Geoghegan and Irish News Sports Columnist Neil Loughran selected him as the finalist in Co Down. There are nine finalists in total, one from each county in Ulster. The standard of entries was extremely high and the judging panel had a tough task whittling them down so reaching this stage is a big achievement!

Following this shortlisting process, there will now be a public vote to decide the overall winner.

This is where the clubs, their members and the gaels of Down and beyond come into their own. We need everyone to like and share the link on the Ulster GAA facebook page, or retweet it on twitter.

The link can also be accessed directly here  http://ulster.gaa.ie/coachoftheyearaward/
