Under 14 Boys Semi-Final Victory
Having already won the Division 3 League earlier this season our under 14 boys will be looking to add to their medal collection after progressing to the division 3 northern championship final courtesy of a 6-12 to 2-06 victory over St. Eunans in the semi final on Wednesday night. It was a young Fanad team as 5 under 12s were named in the starting line up but none looked at all out of place and played a vital part in the win. Fanad's big players showed up on the day with captain Conor McGarvey solid as ever in the back line and charging forward at every opportunity. Conor was helped at the back by the ever solid Hugh Rogers and Brian Gallagher between the sticks and also Aaron McConigley who held the half back line well. Shaun Carr and Liam O Domhnalláin's penetrating runs from wing back were pivotal to the Fanad attack. The major platform for the Gaels win came from the midfield dominated by Liam 'Bill' McGrenaghan and Paddy Gallagher commanding the middle third and providing quality service to the inside forward side of Cian Friel and Darren McAteer who worked tirelessly all game and were constant dangers to the St Eunans defence. The half forward line of Brandon Friel, Callum McAteer and Ronan McFadden all seen plenty of ball throughout the hour troubled the letterkenny half back line all game. Although the only sub young James McAteer came off the bench during a Fanad dull period to reignite the Fanad attack and was important in the win. The boys move on now to face the familiar foe of Lifford who the boys already met earlier this season in the league final with our boys coming out of top on the day. Times and date for the final to be confirmed in the next few days
Team: Brian Gallagher, Hugh Rogers, Conor Mc Garvey(Captain) Shaun Carr, Aaron Mc Conigley, Liam O Domhnalláin, Liam Mc Grenaghan, Patrick Gallagher, Callum Mc Ateer, Brandon Friel, Ronan Mc Fadden, Cian Friel, Darren Mc Ateer, James Mc Ateer came on in second half.

Pairc Ui Shiail - The Field of Dreams.
By Fergus McAteer
As the morning sun beams down
On the lush green Pairc Ui Shiail
A new era, a new beginning
Dreams to be made on the field
Born from humble beginnings
Gaeil Fhanada arose and grew with pride
From Trialough to Portsalon and back
The club built on many a successful side
Established on the beautiful peninsula
The bedrock of the local community
For the boys and girls, women and men
Giving sport, fun, camaraderie and opportunity
Three long years of hard work and toil
Has brought Pairc Ui Shiail to this day
The unveiling of their refurbished ground
Continuing the club on its glorious way
The local volunteers, made this vision become true
Working through late evening and early morning dew
The picturesque Pairc Ui Shiail, there now for many years
Fruits of local labour, etched with sweat, blood and tears
Great patrons of the club, won't see this day
Taken to another field of dreams, this was God's way
Gone but not forgotten, remembered in many tales
And woven into the fabric of their beloved Fanad Gaels
This beautiful field of dreams, a truly delightful sight
In the heart of the community, it stands with power and might
Looking down from above, the great Miah Shiels, the world will tell
"Heck's Boys.....our pitch is looking well"
