As long as his body is up to it, the long-serving Neil Gallagher is expected to commit to the Donegal cause for 2017.
Karl Lacey and Frank McGlynn have already signalled their intention to stay on board and manager Rory Gallagher revealed to The Irish Daily Star that midfielder Gallagher and the likes of Christy Toye and Rory Kavanagh will make up their minds in the coming weeks.
Gallagher finished an injury interrupted year on a high when winning a county SFC medal with Glenswilly.
"We've given the boys time to themselves, I think there is no doubt Neil is very willing to play for Donegal.
"It's just all about how his body reacts. He'd such a stop/start season. He's pretty confident, injury permitting, he'll be good to go.
"There definitely is a willingness there. I've no doubt about that. Not having seen any action this year means there is a drive there.
"He has a few wee appointments with specialists and hopefully he'll come good.
"Injuries permitting, I'm confident Neil will be on board. He still has a huge amount to offer Donegal."
