Donegal captain Michael Murphy says he's delighted to have Rory Kavanagh back in the fold.

Kavanagh returned to Rory Gallagher's squad last month after a year-long absence, coming off the bench for the last 10 minutes of the Tir Chonaill men's comfortable win against Down last Saturday, and Murphy feels that the St Eunan's man will once again be a huge addition.

"Rory's a fantastic player," Murphy told the Irish News. "If anybody was keeping up to date with the club championship he was the stand-out player in Donegal. He's a phenomenal man and a phenomenal work ethic, he's just a natural footballer.

"He's a huge leader within the set-up too and, in fairness, Rory (Gallagher) was ever obliging for him to come back in.

"Rory is the type of fella who would only want to come back to make a big impact; he's not the type of player who will come back and play a bit-part role, and that can only be healthy for us and the younger lads in the squad."
