Philly McMahon has been shortlisted for the GAA/GPA Footballer of the Year award.

The brilliant corner back, who courted controversy during this year's championship, has been nominated for the coveted gong along with Dublin team-mates Jack McCaffrey and Bernard Brogan. The award will be voted on by GPA members.

Mayo's Diarmuid O'Connor, Donegal's Ryan McHugh and Monaghan's Ryan Wylie are in the running for the Young Footballer Of The Year award. O'Connor will be hoping to emulate his older brother Cillian, who won the award in 2011 and 2012.

The Footballer and Young Footballer of the Year awards will be presented at the annual All Stars banquet at Dublin's Convention Centre on Friday, November 6.
