Ireland's hopes of gaining revenge for last year's International Rules defeat to Australia have been dealt a blow with the news that Michael Murphy won't be available for the Croke Park encounter on November 21.

The Irish Daily Star reports that last year's captain has decided to take some time out over the next few months in order to be fresh for the start of Donegal's National League campaign in 2016.

Manager Joe Kernan and the extended panel are currently training in Ashbourne and a number of Dublin and Kerry players are now expected to join up following last Sunday's All-Ireland final.
