All-Ireland U21HC 'C' final: Donegal leave it late

July 26, 2015

General view of hurling.

Donegal 1-11

Tyrone 0-11

Eddie Lynch's late goal from a free secured All-Ireland U21HC 'C' glory for Donegal at the expense of neighbours Tyrone in Celtic Park this evening.

Tyrone looked set to prevail before Conor O'Grady equalised and Lynch netted at the death to secure the inaugural Andrew O'Neill Cup for the Tir Chonaill men.

Points from Kevin Meehan, Sean Curran and Conor McNeely had given the winners an early 0-3 to 0-1 lead, but Tyrone then hit five on the spin per Matthew Mulgrew (two), Ryan McKernan and Duibhir Marshall (two) to lead by double-scores, 0-6 to 0-3.

Two Bernard Cafferty points and a Conor Harkin effort left it all-square at the break, 0-6. It continued to be tit-for-tat for much of the second half until Donegal finished strongly.
