St. Eunan's Under 14 Hurlers clinched the County title on Thursday evening with a sensational display to add the Championship to the League title they secured a fortnight ago and in the process wrote their names into O'Donnell Park folklore. After defeating Burt in last week's semi final, the Letterkenny boys had the opportunity to secure an historic double as they took on Sean MacCumhaill's.

With little more than a point or two seperating the sides in their recent encounters, a tense and tight final was anticipated. However, a flying start saw Eunan's take the lead within 20 seconds of the start and in truth, they never looked back from there. Their first goal came on 8 minutes and two more green flags by the 18th minute meant the game was effectively over as a contest. When the half time whistle blew, the lead was out to 3-09 to 0-01.

In fairness to MacCumhaill's they battled gamely and hurled honestly for the full hour and a goal early in the second half gave their supporters brief hope of a comeback. Eunan's however were not to be denied on their home patch and responded with their fourth goal almost immediately from the restart to kill off any notion of a Ballybofey revival.

Under the guidance of Eunan O'Donnell and Gordon Randles, St. Eunan's pressed home their advantage to seal a comfortable win at the end. In a very accomplished team performance, Eunan's were able to hurl freely and displayed their full array of talent from goalkeeper to full forward line to earn a fully deserved victory. Final score 8-12 to 2-03.

A delighted team captain Shane O'Donnell accepted the cup and thanked the MacCumhaill's team for a sporting match, the officials who let the game flow, the Eunan's management who put in a huge effort preparing the team and of course his teammates for their commitment to achieving a unique League and Championship double.

St. Eunans' focus now turns to the Ulster Féile competition next weekend where they will also be a host Club for Friday and Saturday's group games in both Hurling and Camogie.
