Donegal hurlers have been boosted by the return of two key players ahead of their clash against Meath in the NHL Division 2B campaign.

The Ulster side have lost out narrowly to Mayo and Donegal in their opening two games and they face a tough test against a strong Meath side this weekend.

However, they have been playing without the experienced quartet of Danny Cullen, Joe Boyle, Paddy Hannigan and Sean McVeigh, but the latter is set to make his first appearance of the year against the Royals.

Also returning, having missed the narrow defeat to Armagh is Christopher McDermott and manager Ray Durack is delighted to see his injury list subsiding.

"Danny, Joe and Paddy will once again be absent this weekend. But Sean McVeigh will be back and Christopher McDermott is also fit again after missing the Armagh game," Durack told the Donegal Democrat.

"It is good to have the two boys available. Sean will give us a little more bite up front and Christy can slot in at half back or midfield.

"We are working away well and despite the two defeats the morale is good in the squad; they know they are playing well. It is just a matter of keeping the head down and getting on with it and hopefully the breaks will eventually come our way."
