Donegal will definitely be without three of their more experienced players for the NFL opener against Derry on Saturday evening.

The Donegal team is set to be named later on this morning, but Neil McGee, David Walsh and Colm McFadden are certainly out, according to manager Rory Gallagher.

"The game has just come too soon for Neil, David and Colm and we just don't want to risk them," Gallagher told the Donegal Democrat.

He added: "We have a busy schedule of games coming up and we don't want to set them back."

Gallagher will also have to plan without Dermot 'Brick' Molloy who has opted off the panel for the coming year.
