Goalkeeper Mark Anthony McGinley and midfielder Kevin McBrearty made their senior debuts for Donegal in a challenge match against Martin McHugh's IT Sligo earlier this week.

McGinley, from the St. Michael's club, and McBrearty from Four Masters, played in the game on Monday night, while Darach O'Connor also started at corner forward after missing the McKenna Cup campaign through illness.

Daniel McLoughlin and Hugh McFadden were the only players who had started the final McKenna Cup round-robin game against Fermanagh on Sunday to start again. Rory Gallagher's experimental side won on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-10, with brothers Mark and Ryan McHugh among five Donegal men to feature for the students.
