The Naomh Conaill club have been finally successful in their long running appeal.

The Ulster Council have ruled in favour of the club who appealed against their defeat to Glenswilly in the Donegal SFC semi-final.

Naomh Conaill objected against the result of the game on the basis that Glenswilly's Ciaran Bonner was yellow carded and then black carded before being replaced, when in fact he should have been shown a red card when the black card was issued.

The decision by the Ulster Council does not impede on the 2014 SFC, and Donegal chairman Sean Dunnion felt that the issue was now at a close.

Speaking to the Donegal Democrat, Dunnion said: "I haven't seen on what grounds the Ulster Hearings Committee arrived at the decision.

"But the ruling does vindicate Naomh Conaill's position as far as I know, the club are happy with that."
