Wilkinson defends system

St Michael's manager Tony Wilkinson is adamant that their defensive style of play is the way forward.

A 1-13 to 0-10 win over Dungloe in the SFC quarterfinal proves that their defensive tactics have proven to be very beneficial.

Speaking to the Donegal Democrat, Wilkinson stated that he was happy to continue with that style of player for the remainder of the campaign.

"We decided to give the new system a try and I suppose you could say it has worked reasonably well so far for us," said Wilkinson.

St Michael's take on St Eunan's in this weekend's county SFC semi-final and they had doubts over Michael McGinley, but Wilkinson stressed that he should be ok to take his place.

"Michael suffered a slight groin strain but it is not too serious and I expect him to be fit for Saturday night."
