Davy Fitzgerald has added his voice to the tributes being paid to Jim McGuinness who quit his role as manager of the Donegal senior footballers last night.

Speaking on The Saturday Night Show, the Clare hurling boss highlighted his respect for the pioneering 2012 All-Ireland winning Donegal manager.

"I think Jim McGuinness is phenomenal, I don't think he's got half the credit he deserves," Davy opined.

"Sometimes he gets negative press about one or two different things but he's been brilliant, tactically the way he does stuff, what he's done for Donegal, I'd have nothing but the height of respect for Jim McGuinness.

"He owes Donegal nothing for what he has done for the county and fair play to him."
