Marc O Se says it was sweet to beat a team other than Cork or Mayo in an All-Ireland final.

The Kerry defender's four previous All-Ireland SFC medals had all been earned against either the Connacht kingpins or the Rebels, so Sunday's victory over Jim McGuinness' charges was extra special:

"We beat Mayo in 2004, Mayo in '06, Cork in '07, Cork again in '09," he notes in The Irish Independent. They were great but it was Mayo, Cork, Mayo, Cork.

"You would love to broaden your horizons a small bit and that was part of it . It was great to beat Donegal not just because they are a northern team, but because they are another team. We were delighted.

"It doesn't just matter because they are Donegal, you play who is put in front of you they just happened to be the champions of 2012 and a northern team. But it is sweet."
