A county councillor fears the homes of Donegal football fans will be targeted by criminals on the weekend of the All-Ireland final.
Cllr Paul Canning from Manorcunningham is warning of the potential for break-ins while thousands of supporters are away in Dublin for the big game against Kerry, and is appealing to those not travelling to be extra vigilant.
"I'm appealing to the people, coming into the dark evenings, to be more vigilant," he said on Highland Radio.
"Given the fact that next weekend we'll be all off to Dublin, I'm appealing to the people left behind to look out for their properties. Criminals will be well aware of the Donegal match and know people will be away for the full day, so there will be ample opportunity for them."
