Danny Hughes says the Donegal footballers would follow Jim McGuinness to hell and back.

Writing in his weekly 'Breaking Ball' column in The Irish News, the former Down star is full of admiration for the inspirational Tir Chonail leader:

"I can only imagine that Jimmy McGuinness is a messiah to his players. They would follow him to hell and back. I fancy them to land a third All-Ireland this month.

"Placing a similar type of manager into any county squad in the country, including my own, and you would have the disciples to take you to the Promised Land. An intercounty player is motivated more than the average player.

"The key is having a leader to take you there. He leads the players, he leads the County Board and he leads the backers.

"If he gets all these essential ingredients pulling in the same direction, the supporters will follow. So, too, will the titles."
