McGuinness: Dublin deserve to be 1/10

Jim McGuinness believes the bookies are right to list Dublin as 1/10 shots for Sunday's All-Ireland SFC semi-final.

Punters will have to risk a tenner on Jim Gavin's high-flying charges to gain a euro and the Donegal boss says the measly odds represent a fair reflection of where the two teams are at:

"The bottom line is the odds are there for a reason," he told The Irish Independent. "Dublin have done everything that is asked of them. It remains to be seen if Donegal can present the challenge.

"Until that happens the odds should be where they are at, that's the way I would call it.

"They played teams through their own province that play quite a similar system to themselves. They played an Ulster team in the quarter-final. Same result, same type of scoreline, same difference in terms of the margin of victory.

"Everything that has been asked of them, they have been able to answer. For that reason they are entitled to be the odds that they are.

"When you have a team like Dublin who have been consistently at the top in league and championship there is nothing new in terms of what they have brought to the table.

"We know what is ahead of us, we know what they are going to bring. The one thing that they have added is the number of shots they are getting off, 45, 46, 47 consistently.

"They are very relentless in terms of their approach and they ask a wild lot of questions.

"We know that they are very fit, strong, well organised and they have got their system well down the track in terms of their development."
