Neil McGee says there's no way Donegal were going to be outfought by Monaghan in a second successive Ulster final.

Stunned by the Farney County in the 2013 Anglo-Celt Cup decider, the Tir Chonail men turned the tables at Clones on Sunday to capture a third provincial crown in four years.

"It was a very tough battle and Monaghan asked some serious questions of us," the younger McGee sibling told The Irish News.

"We contained them in the first half and we knew that the gaps would open up for our runners in the second half.

"We were in control before they got the goal but we re-established control soon afterwards and managed to hold on.

"We deserved it as we learned a lot from last year. They outfought us last year but there was no way they were going to outfight us again."
