If selected, Donegal forward Christy Toye will make his fiftieth championship appearance in Sunday week's Ulster SFC final.

Earlier in the campaign, Colm McFadden reached the same milestone and its shows the experience that Donegal have in their ranks as they prepare to face Monaghan in the provincial decider.

Toye, who made his championship debut back in 2002 and lined out alongside current manager Jim McGuinness is pleased to reach such a milestone, but stressed to the Donegal Democrat that it was only a number.

"Obviously it is great to be still involved in the championship. When you're playing championship games you're hoping to have a good impact on the squad and that the manager is using you, from that point of view," said Toye.

"But at the same time it is only numbers. Things you win, people are adding them up but they are pretty irrelevant in your playing days."
