Jim McGuinness says he has regularly been the subject of "false reporting" over the years.

When asked for his views on the media ban imposed recently by Armagh, the charismatic Donegal manager pointed out that he has often been the subject of interviews that never even took place:

"There has been a lot of things said that have been false," he is quoted in The Irish News. "There has been a lot of false reporting.

"There's been a lot of things said that I have been quoted hundreds of times and I never even said the quotes.

"It goes on all the time. If you came out in that situation, and you address it, it is only bringing more controversy to your door.

"So you decide whether it is important enough to address it or do you just let it slide? There has been loads and loads and loads of things that have not sat well with me.

"And even my family because there has been personal things that have been said, and that is the same with players as well.

"I think it's because people don't have the full picture. When you don't have the full picture, people put down whatever they can get their hands on and then sometimes it is not actually what went on at all."
