Letterkenny Gaels continued their good form with a hard fought win over Lifford at Páirc na nGael on Saturday evening. The first half was evenly matched with the full forwards Gary Mc Girr and Conor McBrearty in scoring form hitting 1.3 each. Brendan O Brien and James Mc Glynn also added points for the home side while Paul Given added for the visitors. Half Time Gaels 1.5 N Padraig 1.4.

In the second half Ciaran Lynch and Colm O Breslin added scores for the Gaels before Darren Gillespie responded for Lifford. McGlynn and Mc Girr exchanged scores before midfielder Ciaran Cannon goaled to put the home team six up.

Lifford again responded with a well taken Mc Girr goal from the same player reduced the deficit to two. However an inspirational point from Gaels captain Brendan O Brien strengthened their resolve. And a late point from Mc Girr was Lifford's final response
