Solid win for Donegal NY

April 21, 2014
Donegal NY's Senior team began their 2014 League competition today with a solid 4-7 to 2-4 drubbing of fellow Ulster county Monaghan. The Farney men's second goal came in the last 5 minutes of play, creating a score line that belies theie inability to notch more than 1 other point in the second half. Pat McGill's lads had the measure of Monaghan from the start and never looked back. Next Sunday (again at 230 pm at Gaelic Park) they will need all the ball handling skill shown today when they face perennial powerhouse Leitrim in another League battle. With NY panel members barred from play until after the May 4 Connacht championship encounter with Mayo, the Senior teams have been allowed use of Junior players for League games.
