All of Saturday's club league matches in Donegal have been called off at the request of the county management.

The Donegal squad is returning from a week-long training squad in the Algarve today and a full round of all-county football league fixtures was scheduled to take place over Easter weekend.

But the county management requested that either tomorrow's games proceed without county players or that the games be deferred. The clubs have opted for a deferral.

Sunday's games will go ahead as planned.

The postponement of tomorrow's league fixtures is the latest twist in an ongoing club versus county saga that has gripped Donegal.

All championship matches in the county have already been put off until after Jim McGuinness' charges are eliminated from the All-Ireland. That decision has prompted a lot of criticism - most notably from GAA director general Paraic Duffy - and the fact that league games are now also being affected looks like another step in a worrying direction for the club game.
