Brennan weighs in on fixtures row

April 18, 2014
Ardara manager Adrian Brennan is the latest person to blast the county board over a full round of club league fixtures being cancelled.

Earlier this weekend former county player John Haran laid the blame for the club v. county row that has rumbled on for some time now at the feet of the county board.

And Brennan stressed to the Donegal Democrat that the situation had gotten out of control.

"It's the tail wagging the dog very much here in Donegal when it comes to fixtures and playing of club games," stated Brennan.

"Club players have had enough and they are simply not going to take anymore. I'm a grassroots person and I'm also a supporter of the county team. But as I see it, we have a two tier system. The GAA is very professional at one level and very amateur at the other.

"The GAA are going to have to realise they are dealing with mainly students and young professional people and they are not going to tolerate being treated in such a manner."
