Donegal manager Ray Durack was a proud man after leading the county into Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League for the first time.
The Tir Chonaill men defeated Fingal by 2-16 to 0-8 in yesterday's Division 2B / 3A relegation-promotion playoff at Kingspan Breffni Park, despite having wing back Ross McGarry sent off just before half-time.
"This is the day I have dreamed of ever since I took over Donegal," a delighted Durack is quoted in the Irish Daily Mirror.
"These lads have made hurling history and nobody can ever take it away from them. They are a credit to themselves and their county and even though it will be tough in Division 2B, they certainly deserve a shot at the higher division."
