The Donegal county board still believe that they may recover the money that was stolen from their bank account in an internet scam.

Last year, the county board were conned out of €18,000 when their bank account was hacked and the money was transferred to an account in the U.K.

A Gardai investigation was launched and Donegal chairman Seamus Dunnion told club delegates at a recent county board meeting that the matter was still being investigated.

"I have to be careful what I say on this matter. It is a highly sensitive issue and we have been advised by our legal people not to comment on the matter," said Dunnion.

"The garda investigation is ongoing and I can also confirm that the matter is also being investigated by the financial services ombudsman."
