Rory Kavanagh says facing Monaghan at Croke Park is ideal preparation for the Ulster SFC clash with Derry.

Donegal will take on the Farney County in the Division Two decider at HQ on April 27th and are due to meet the Oak Leafers in the first round of the Ulster championship four weeks later:

"Derry are flying high as well and will be playing in the Division One semi-finals, so it sets it up for a massive encounter in Celtic Park on May 25th," Tir Chonail midfielder Kavanagh states in The Irish Daily Mirror.

"Playing in the wide open spaces in Croke Park against another Ulster team will be tough, but there is no better preparation for Derry really.

"Getting back up [to Division One] was a big aim for us. The football in Division One is tough and it's the league where teams who want to go on and win All-Irelands are playing."
