Jim McGuinness insists Donegal are not thinking about winning back-to-back All-Irelands.

As the Ulster and All-Ireland champions prepare to open the defence of their titles against Tyrone at Ballybofey on Sunday, manager McGuinness says they are not looking beyond the Red Hands.

"There is not one player on the Donegal team thinking about the All-Ireland final this year, or retaining the All-Ireland title," the Tir Chonail boss tells The Irish News. "It is not on the radar.

"We beat Tyrone, that gives us an opportunity to move to an Ulster semi-final. We beat the opposition in the semi-final, then we have a chance to win the Ulster championship. That is it. It is that simplistic.

"The players are a very focussed group, have a good attitude, a good focus and if we give everything we've got there is a very strong possibility we will be there or thereabouts to win a game anyway.

"That has been our approach in terms of preparation."
