FL top scorers: McCormack edges clear

Longford may have a 100% losing record in the Allianz FL but Sean McCormack is the top scoring footballer in the competition with seven rounds completed.

The Longford man leapfrogs Leitrim's Emlyn Mulligan and Donal O'Hare of Down.

O'Hare leads the Division 1 scoring while McCormack heads the Division 2 table, Sligo's Adrian Marren leads the way in Division 3 and Mulligan is the Division 4 top scorer.

In the goal scoring charts McCormack is also king with four goals to his credit, while 12 players are on three goals - Mickey Newman (Meath), Shane Lennon (Louth), Jason Kielt (Derry), Niall McNamee (Offaly), Stephen O'Neill (Tyrone), Mark Donnelly (Tyrone), Redmond Barry (Wexford), Martin Dunne (Cavan), Conor Beirne (Leitrim), Brian Connor (Offaly), Robert Aherne (Waterford) and Greg McParland (Armagh).

Round 7's top scoring feat was shared between McCormack (1-5 v Louth), Mickey Newman (1-5 v Fermanagh), Fermanagh's Tomas Corrigan (0-8 v Meath) and Limerick's Ian Ryan (1-5 v Clare).

The highest individual score in a game during all seven rounds is shared by Conor McManus (2-7 v Wicklow) and Bernard Brogan (1-10 v Mayo).
