Donegal GAA pitch left flooded by Storm Lorenzo

October 05, 2019

The Kilcar GAA pitch in Towney, Co. Donegal submerged in water in the wake of Storm Lorenzo.

Storm Lorenzo has left a GAA pitch in Co. Donegal severely flooded.

Members of the Kilcar club awoke yesterday morning to find the pitch in Towney submerged in water. A combination of high tides, strong winds and heavy rain left the club's main pitch, training area and carpark under several feet of water. Club officials were last night assessing the extent of the damage.

The flooding comes as Kilcar prepare to do battle with county and Ulster champions Gweedore tomorrow for a place in the Donegal SFC final.
