Donegal are on the lookout for a new U20 football manager as Gary McDaid has decided not to seek a third year at the helm.

McDaid informed Highland Radio that he was stepping down after being informed by the County Board that he would have to face interview for the position.

The Glenswilly clubman was under the impression that he was handed the job on two year basis and had the option of a third after a review.

He had already started planning for the 2020 campaign.

The Tir Chonaill outfit suffered a surprise Ulster defeat to Fermanagh this year but they were minus the services of Oisin Gallen who made the step up to Declan Bonner’s senior squad.
