A football belonging to a Donegal ladies team that washed up on a beach in the Outer Hebrides two years ago has been safely returned.

The missing ball was found in May 2017 on the island of North Uist by Arthur Heyes, who got in touch with Dungloe GAA club via Facebook. The ball was in 'perfect condition', he said at the time, despite its epic 500-mile journey across the sea.

Earlier this month, Arthur and his brother David returned the ball in person to Dungloe ladies football coach Joe Boyle.
