Football
The very best of luck to Donegal as they take on Cavan in the Ulster final this Sunday in Clones. Ocean FM are broadcasting their Ulster Final preview programme from Ballyshannon this Thursday from 8pm to 9pm in Seán Óg's. This is a free public event so and among the special guests on the evening will be Anthony Molloy and Martin McHugh.
Aodh Ruadh made the trip up to Dungloe on Sunday. This time it was the turn of the Gaeltacht men to make home advantage count. They lead by 2-7 to 2-4 at half-time and had the better of things in the second half too as they ran out 2-15 to 3-7 winners. The reserve game against Dungloe fell by the wayside when no referee arrived to officiate. It's another big game for our seniors this Saturday with a trip to fellow promotion chasers Glenfin.
Hard luck to the under 14s who lost out to Naomh Conaill 2-14 to 3-8 in the Southern Divisional Board league semi-final which was played in Glenties on Monday evening.
Under 12 training continues this Friday from 6pm.
Under 10 training continues on Tuesdays at 5.30pm.
Our under 8 boys travelled to Four Masters on Saturday morning with 38 players pulling on the Aodh Ruadh jersey on the day. The hosts, having similar numbers ourselves, had six pitches set up and two seven-a-side games and four six-a-side games were played, meaning every boy got full games. A very enjoyable day was had by all, and much credit is due to the Four Masters club for hosting and organising a very well run morning of football. Training continues this Friday from 6pm to 7pm in Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh. In a change to the fixture schedule, we now host Dungloe this Saturday. Throw-in times will be confirmed to parents mid-week.
Ladies
Senior, minor and under 16 training continues on Thursday, time to be confirmed.
There was superb weather for the under 12s home game against Buncrana on Saturday. The junior and senior games were played simultaneously. The junior game saw a big improvement on the girls display down in Buncrana with the visitors having to work a lot harder for their scores. Aodh Ruadh took some nice points themselves with Sarah Begley and Hannah Downey among those on the mark. Out the pitch the two Lucys, Byrne and Cleary, once again worked themselves into the ground and were wrecked coming off the pitch, two real stars. Defensively Rebecca Downey continued her fine form while Ellie Brennan was a lively threat in the attack. The seniors had a good win and played some really lovely football. Jessica O'Mahoney was just different class in her reading of the game. Roise Conlon had one of her best outings of the season at half back. The midfield pair of Lauren Foy and Ciara Larkin didn't put a foot wrong. Orlaith Gallagher was a force of nature in the attack with Cádhla Dolan, Áine Neilan, Aoife Travers, Niamh Duffy and Nessa Mitchell all taking nice scores. Many thanks to our referees on the day, Paddy Gillespie and Paddy Kelly. Big thanks also to everyone for supplying goodies and especially those who did such a great job with the post-match catering in the Aras. Training as usual this Wednesday at 7pm. Next league assignment for the girls is the visit of Muff on Thursday, players to be up at the park for 5.45pm. Parents / guardians are again asked to send refreshments with their child and help would also be appreciated with the catering upstairs in Aras Aoidh Ruaidh after the game.
The under 8 and under 10 girls are training from 5.45pm to 6.45pm on Wednesdays.
Under 6 training continues at Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh this Friday from 6pm to 6.45pm.
The Duck Race will take place on Friday, June 28th. All those with outstanding cards are asked to start getting them back to their managers.

The under 15s travel to Carndonagh this Thursday to take part in the County Óg Sport tournament.
The under 14s finished their season on high by claiming the A Championship title last Thursday in Tir Chonaill Park. They were up against Saint Eunan's and while things were even enough early on, our lads ran out comfortable winners to complete the under 14 league and championship double.
The under 12 league starts on Thursday and our opening game is at home to Saint Eunan's.
Underage hurling training continues on Sunday for all teams at 12 noon.
Dog fouling
Patrons are reminded that dogs are banned from Father Tierney Park and Páirc Aoidh Ruaidh. It has been brought to our attention that dog fouling has become a serious problem. Aside from being disgusting, this carelessness also endangers the health and safety of our players and volunteers. Please heed the notices displayed prominently around the grounds and keep your dog away from the premises.
