Meath, Roscommon and Derry made it two wins from two in the Christy Ring Cup this afternoon.

Jack Regan maintained his excellent scoring form with a 16-point haul for Meath in a surprisingly comfortable 2-26 to 1-13 victory over Kildare in Group 2 at Newbridge. The result ensures the Royals of a semi-final spot, while it leaves holders Kildare facing a battle to retain their status.

Eamon O Donnacadh bagged a first half brace of goals to help Nicky Fitzgerald's men to a 2-10 to 1-7 interval lead and with Regan to the fore, they romped home in the second half.

Roscommon have also qualified from Group 2 after accounting for London by 1-25 to 2-12 in Ruislip. The visitors only led by two points, 0-11 to 0-9, at the break, but gradually pulled away after the restart with Conor Mulry's late goal sealing their win.

Derry are also through to the last-four after coming from behind to beat neighbours Donegal by 0-20 to 1-14 in an exciting Group 2 encounter at Owenbeg.

Aided by a 10th minute goal from Buncrana youngster Dylan Duffy, Donegal led by 1-12 to 0-7 at half-time, but six points from Cormac O'Doherty and four from Brian Og McGilligan saw the Oak Leafers recover in the second half as four unanswered points in the closing stages gave them the win.

In Aughrim, Down bounced back from their first round loss to Derry with a 2-25 to 2-19 defeat of Wicklow. The visitors led by 0-15 to 0-11 at the break before a Christy Moorehouse penalty at the start of the second half left the minimum in it.

But goals from Daithi Sands in the 49th minute and Tim Prenter in the 68th minute saw the Ardsmen home.
