Naomh Adhamhnáin club notes

May 07, 2019

Brian McCormick’s Sports & Leisure Division One / Division One Reserve.

League action resumes for both the Seniors and Reserves this evening (Saturday) when we welcome newly-promoted Milford to O’Donnell Park. Mick Martin’s Reserves get things underway at 5:30pm and the Senior game starts at 7pm.

Last weekend, it was the visit of St Michael’s to our home venue. The Reserves had a very comfortable win while the Seniors also got back to winning ways with 1-19 to 0-13 victory. Solid team performances from both sides were vital in continuing their respective league challenges.

Yes Chef Catering Region 2

Following a bye last weekend, the Juniors travel to face our neighbours, Naomh Colmcille, in Newtowncunningham on Sunday. That game has a lunchtime start of 1:30pm. They’ll be looking to get back to winning ways after a narrow defeat on Easter Monday at home to Malin.

Senior and Minor Hurling League

On Thursday night, the Senior hurlers took on Setanta. At this time of writing, I am still awaiting confirmation of the final-score from that one, but it will be sent out once it has been sent in. Next Friday, we welcome to Sean MacCumhaills to O’Donnell Park for a league meeting that starts at 7pm.

The minors had a superb victory over Setanta on Thursday night thanks to a 5-10 to 0-11 win for Eunan O’Donnell’s side. Next up for them is a trip to Buncrana on Thursday evening; starting-time is 7:30pm.

Club Lotto

Good news this week for Pauric Ryan (College Farm Road), Orlaith Kavanagh (Golf Course Road), Eugene Duffy (Killyclug), Niall Kavanagh (Golf Course Road) and Philip Holian (℅ Voodoo). .The numbers drawn were 9, 15, 17 and 26. Well done to all.

Sunday Morning Academy

The Academy will not take place this week as it is a Bank Holiday. We we will return to action the following week.

Under 10 Girls

On Thursday evening, we had a huge turnout of our U10 girls who welcomed our neighbours Termon to the O'Donnell park for their first fixture of the year. For many of the girls, it was their 1st time donning the Black and Amber.

We had enough for 2 teams so we arranged a blitz instead of a standalone match.

There was plenty of good football played, lots of fun had and we have very encouraging numbers for the future. And more are always welcome!

Under 12 Girls

St. Eunans Under 12's Girls team will be playing a blitz in Dublin on Monday the 6th of May in Templeogue Synge Street GAA Club. They will be not only be representing St. Eunans GAA Club but Donegal and Ulster. Also their league campaign starts next Saturday the 11th against Muff in O’Donnell Park.

AOB - Charity Game at Celtic FC

Quick word of thanks to all our members who sent me such great messages for my appearance at Celtic Park earlier this week.

It was a busy few days with travel / getting back to work etc so I never got to thank everyone at the time. My apologies.

Delighted to report that we won the game 4-2 and that £15,000 was raised for charity with a chunk of that going to Donegal Down Syndrome here at home. Thanks again.
