A huge congratulations to our U14 boys who won the Donegal Div 1 League tittle when they defeated Sean Mc Cumhaills in Glenswilly. A superb team performance from Goalkeeper Thomas Cannon right through to the boys who came off the bench. Our defenders deserve special mention for how the kept a very good Mc Cumhaills team to 2.09 over the 65 odd minutes, Patrick Mc Daid and Owen Browne were excellent in the middle while up front our forwards won many of the individual battles. Congrats to everyone involved, another fantastic night on what has been an amazing season for our under age teams. Special mention to Paddy Mc Menamin and Hugh Harkin who have put in the long hours on the "coaching" field with these boys. Well done everyone
Another great day for our U12 boys at the James Gallagher memorial tournament run by St Eunans yesterday. Our boys were missing a few of the older boys and thanks to Liam Cunningham for giving a few U10s to make up our B team. Indeed this team performed really well with the young U10s not looking out of place which augers well for next year. Our A team promoted a few B team players to their team and the team performed superbly all day and their only defeat was in game one to Dungiven. After that the boys defeated strong Gaoth Dobhair and Glenswilly teams and then Ardara in the Shield final. Thanks to everyone in St Eunans for a great days football and for the refreshments and a special thanks to Paddy Gallagher and PJ McFadden who really got the most from their team yesterday. Well done boys.
Our U10 boys are hosting a blitz at The Burn Road this Saturday morning with an 11am start. The boys have games against Gaoth Dobhair, Dungloe & Milford. Hopefully the parents can provide refreshments for our guests. Anyone available to help with refereeing, setting up etc etc to be there at 10.30. We hope that all our U10 boys will make a special effort to attend on Saturday Please let Jim (2009) and Liam (2008) if your son can or can't attend.
It's our favorite time of the year again...it's Cul Camp time. Over the last few years our Cul Camp has been a huge success. This years Cul Camp will run from next Monday Aug 13th to Fri 17th. Open to all boys and girls from 6 to 13. Please register your child/ children on line so the organizers know how many coaches are needed. Any queries contact Nathan Mc Elwaine on 085 2827817. The online booking facility will close soon so please book ASAP. Look forward to seeing all our boys and girls at this years Cul Camp
Congrats to our U18 boys who made it 3 Championship wins from 3 when the recorded a 2 point win at The Burn Road tonight. PJ and James were without several of their squad but the boys in attendance put in a huge shift to finally get on top agains s determined and strong Red Hughs outfit. Aaron Reid Anthony and Jamie Grant and Evan Coleman took the challenge to the visitors throughout. Steve Mc Daid Ryan Mc Fadden and Caolan Gallagher did a lot of the heavy lifting in the middle third and once again Fionn Mc Garvey got the big score latching on to a breaking ball in the penalty area and firing it to the back of the net. Well done boys a home Quarter final awaits. Next up it's a NRB League fixture at home to St Michaels tomorrow evening with a 7pm throw in.
