Mickey Harte was fulsome in his praise of Colm Cavanagh's performance in today's 2-17 to 1-13 All-Ireland Super 8s victory over Donegal.

The Red Hands boss went as far to say that it was the experienced Moy clubman's "best performance" in the county jersey during his post-match interview with BBC Sport in Ballybofey.

"He was excellent today," Harte enthused. "We know that about him for a very long time. He did all the things that you normally expect him to do plus more. He drove us on and intercepted so many balls there and put in so many tackles.

"It probably was his best performance in a Tyrone jersey and that's saying something."

Harte also acknowledged the significant role that his substitutes played in the seven-point success.

"That's the case in modern day football. The players that don't start aren't necessarily not worth a starting place, you need players to come in and make a difference."
