Donegal's goalkeeping options have been reduced with the news that Peter Boyle has withdrawn from Declan Bonner's squad.

Highland Radio is reporting that Boyle has left the panel and will be concentrating on playing club football with Aodh Ruadh for the rest of the season.

The Ballyshannon man started Donegal's Allianz League games against Galway and Dublin, and came on for the injured Mark Anthony McGinley against Kerry. However, St. Eunan's Shaun Patton started ahead of him in last Sunday's win over Kildare which, ironically, was played in his home pitch of Fr Tierney Park.

Patton also started the previous week's Dr McKenna Cup final victory over Tyrone and was expected to start tomorrow's postponed Allianz League encounter against the same opposition in Omagh.

The Donegal management are believed to be lining up Danny Rodgers as Boyle's replacement in the squad.
