Gaeil Fhanada club notes

February 13, 2018

Important Information for Parents

Collection of membership fees will take place in The Tourism Resource Centre, Rossnakill on Saturday February 17th at 7 p.m. and in Fanavolty Hall on Saturday February 24th at 7.30 p.m.

Club membership is essential for all playing members of the club as it covers the players insurance for training and games until December 31st 2018. No child will be allowed to take part in the clubs playing activity without it.

Because of new Child Protection Legislation there are a number of permissions that have to be signed by parents, so please come along on the night to register your child.

Prior to signing your child's membership form it is important that you familiarize yourself with and understand the GAA Code of Behaviour, available to download from http://www.gaa.ie/the-gaa/child-welfare-and-protection/code-of-behaviour.

Membership rates for 2018 remain the same as last year:

Full Adult: €40

Student (over 18 years): €25

Underage (under 18): €15

Gaeil Fhánada well represented at the Lidl NFL

Well done to Siobhan Coyle who officiated the Lidl NFL Division 4 clash between Antrim & Kilkenny in Rathmore, Belfast yesterday. Shout out also to her three umpires; JP Coyle, Hughie Shiels and John Cushnan. All giving our club a good name at inter county level.

GAA National Club Draw Update

Gaeil Fhánada are delighted with the response to the GAA National Club Draw in our area and would like to thank the people in our community who supported our fundraising effort.

While the GAA at national level sponsor the prizes for this draw, our club is also offering five prizes of €100 locally, with your ticket also being entered in a draw at county level for prizes sponsored by Donegal County Board.

This draw gives clubs a great boost at the start of the year when there are so many expenses to be paid, public liability, property and player injury insurance bills to name a few.

We would ask, in our final push for support this week, that every adult player and ordinary adult club member buy a ticket for €10. This week sees your final chance to do so and it eases the burden on all of us who have to fundraise to keep our club going.

Many thanks again, and we wish you luck in each of the three draws that a single €10 ticket gives you access to.

Lotto Results

Maidir leis na himeachtaí ar an pháirc, imreoidh muid in eadán Gleann Fhinne sa réamhbhabhta den chomórtas shóisearach. Imreofar an chluiche sin roimh dheireadh na míosa seo ach tá an dáta agus am le socrú go fóill.

Beidh Comórtas F14 ann in áit comórtas F15 i mbliana. Beidh turas go Ghaoth Dobhair le déanamh ag na gasúraí sa chomórtas sin. Níl an tarraingt do chomórtas na mBan déanta go fóill.

We received great news from the Comórtas Peile na Gaeltachta AGM held in Glenties last night, with the news that Gaeil Fhánada were chosen to host the county Gaeltacht competition in 2020.

On the field of play, we will play Gleann Fhinne in the preliminary round of the Junior competition. That game will be played towards the end of February. The U15 competition was changed to U14, with our lads drawn against Gaoth Dobhair. The draw for the ladies competition hasn't been made yet.

Ádh mór lenár bhfoirne go léir a rachaidh chun páirce sa chomórtas seo!!!
