the tower hotel would probably be the handiest, its inside the city walls and looks over celtic park, a decent enough place. other than that you also have the city hotel, a bit further away but still walking distance to celtic park, then da vincis a lovely place and slightly further again, you could walk this no problem it would take about 30 mins.

If you are going for a pint there are plenty of decent bars. The Gweedore Bar or Peadar O Donnells which are next door to each other are good enough and always have a good crowd in. The Gweedore has a disco upstairs on a Saturday night if you are up for that. They are both in Waterloo Street near the town centre. If you are looking for a disco type bar, you should try the Metro or Bentley. The Metro does be jammed and like everywhere I suppose has a few eejits about it, but does the job.

Joint 2nd fav's, Didn't know that. It's rebuilding time here in Galway. New manager, a young team and the supporters club just getting off the ground. We'll just have to wait and see.

If you's have a bus and a designated driver you could look at some in the Waterside, the Everglades or Broomhill maybe (wouldn't be wandering into anybars on the waterside though).

All in all your best bet is probably the tower, closest to celtic park, waterloo street, shipquay street and the Diamond, where you'll find most of what you need. City hotel would be next.

Another bar which hasnt been mentioned is Downey's on Shipquay street, owned by the famous Downey brothers of '93, its a good spot and if your into a nightclub Sugar is attached.
