Ulster MFC: Donegal set up Derry showdown

June 25, 2016

Breffni Park Cavan

Donegal scored a 3-15 to 2-12 semi-final victory over Monaghan in Kingspan Breffni Park this evening to book a final date with Derry.

Goals from Jason McGee, Eoghan McGettigan and Odhran McFadden-Ferry sent Shaun Paul Barrett's charges on the road to a six point victory.

McGee and McGettigan found the back of the Monaghan net in the opening period and they led by 2-7 to 0-5 at the change of ends.

A Monaghan goal from Robbie McAllister brought the Farney County right back into contention before McFadden-Ferry and Conor Leonard traded three pointers.

As events transpired, Donegal finished strongly to see off the brave Monaghan challenge and now turn their attention to the Oak Leafers who they will meet in Clones on Sunday, July 17.
