Brennan will talk to Derry chiefs
September 09, 2010
John Brennan has confirmed that he will talk to the Derry county board's selection committee regarding the vacant football manager's post.
Brennan, who is one of six nominees for the position, had previously issued an ultimatum that he was not prepared to go through another interview process after being overlooked twice before. As a result, the Derry county board has reached a compromise, which will see all six nominees hold informal talks with the selection committee.
Derry chairman John Keenan said in The Irish News: "We want to discuss where we are at, and what is best for Derry in the situation we are now in. We will sit down and have a conversation with all of the nominees."
The other candidates are Tony Scullion, Malachy O'Rourke, Damien Barton, Liam Bradley and Peter Doherty. Derry chiefs hope to be in a position to appoint Damian Cassidy's successor before the end of the month.
