It was a thoroughly entertaining afternoon of GAA action as 14 intercounty matches went down for decision.

In football, six Round Two games took place in the McKenna Cup, while Westmeath hosted Kildare for the right to face Longford at the semi-final stage of the O'Byrne Cup.

Waterford entertained Clare and Cork travelled to Limerick to determine the line-up for this year's McGrath Cup final, while Leitrim had home advantage against Mayo in their historic Connacht SFL clash.

In hurling, there were matches in Round Three of the Walsh Cup (Laois V Dublin, Carlow V Offaly), Munster SHL (Waterford V Clare) and Kehoe Cup (Kildare V Wicklow).
