Dual star Chrissy McKaigue will captain the Derry senior hurlers in their Christy Ring Cup opener against London today from his right half-forward berth.

Five of the six starting Oak Leaf forwards hail from Slaughtneil and the odd man out is left corner-forward Naoise Waldron who plays his club hurling with All-Ireland Club champions Cuala.

The Ballinascreen fixture has a 3pm throw-in time.
