Sounded like a good tough competitive game . Let's hope a few of these players develop into seniors in a few years time. Any stand out players from this particular game to watch put for

outplayed dubs in the first half but 2nd half far too calm and too deep. ref bottled a pen late on too.

Very disappointing result. We seemed to want to protect the lead after half time and that completely back fired. At the time I though taking off Jordan Morris was a mistake and then we brought him back on too late in the game.

Laois next in 2 week time, not sure if it's home or away. Win or go home time and a loss isn't acceptable. I still think there is more in this team

This was very similar to that day in Carlow when another Meath team managed by a man I have huge respect for did something similar. Go for the jugular in this position, should never sit back.

I don't know whether I would blame the manager for this defeat, we did have a few chances in the second half but didn't take any of them and were not doing the basic things right. If we do meet Dublin again it would be another close game and I would fancy us to edge it.

With respect, don't throw out a comment about a referee bottling a decision when Meath were winning by ten at half time and lost by two.

doesn't matter what happened in the game,he ignored a clear penalty. should he ignore it because a team was 10 points up?

No, absolutely not.

The point I'm making is its the height of irony to blame a referee for losing a game that you where 10 points up in at half time ?

The referee may have "bottled" a decision, But your lads bottled a 10 point lead.

Don't be trying to use one blokes decision as a reason you lost, We scored you 1-11 to 0-03 in 50 minutes of football.

Yes we should ignore it. There should have never been extra time. 10 up at half we can't blame the ref

i didn't say it was the reason we lost. the reason we lost was the fact that we stopped playing in the 2nd half and played a sweeper, instead of doing what we were doing. management made huge mistakes and the players got complacement.

I think that's it in a nutshell. All those combined.

Well it shows that this group of the layers have it in them to beat Dublin , however it also shows a lack of team understanding on behalf of the Mgt team . When your team is ten points up and dominating , you don't revert to a holding defensive role . Like has happened . You let loose the hounds , you ask your players to go for the jugler . You tell them that they are the better team and that their first half display proves it . You don't , say ok guys we're 10 points up , now we're going to hold things , , I'm going to take off one of my better forwards , and start sweeping . What message is that sending to a team that are up for it . Management got that one wrong . They asked them to sit on a lead instead of extending it
