Replying To bert09:  "Ha! I'm about as optimistic as Sean Boylan...With the right attitude, focus and gameplan there's no reason why we couldn't give the dubs a good rattle. I refuse to accept the argument that we don't have the players to compete."
Jaysus if only we could bottle Boylan's optimism and spirit, the man is a legend. I was of a similar opinion to yourself for many years, I always believed we could both challenge and beat Dublin but that was knocked out of me in 2014 and the loss to Westmeath in 2015 was a huge blow to my optimism in Meath football. Renewed optimism will come in the form of improved performances and most importantly improved results, so we'll see how we go over the next few months.

As predicted here az few weeks back by a few of us. The best 4 lads have been brought in and I believe all 4 will push hard for starting positions. Corner back, Centre back, midfield and Full forward

Corner back Dan O'Neill, Centre back Brían Conlon, Midfield Ronan Jones and Full Forward Thomas O'Reilly. They are my guesses

Replying To bert09:  "Hmmmmmm...Call me mad and it might be the eternal optimist in me but I think we could win something this year.

Here's why-
We have players in team that can bring us on a lot from last year--alan forde, Donal lenihan, cillian o Sullivan (I know lenihnan and Sullivan were there last year--but they are improving a lot)

Add to the mix a manager who is a proven winner and we are closing the gap.

Add just a little bit of never say die belief and you just never know...."
You're mad. The best chance we had of winning something was retaining the O'Byrne cup but we were hammered by Louth. We were in a much better place this time last year and look how that turned out.
But we have a "proven winner" as manager who maybe doesn't prepare his team to play a team that hadn't won in 2 years!

No matter how bad Cork are and they won't be mad despite what the media say a win in cork would represent progress and it is on path for promotion. We will beat Fermanagh and Clare in our last two games. The more I think about the more I feel we will win this game, I thought this was the toughest game of the group from the start. Up the Royal

It's not exactly a state secret. It was posted here early yesterday that there were 4 additions to squad and I would think that there will be lads dropping out to make way for these. Hardly front page news as it would be the norm to have a few U 21 players on senior squad
