NFL Round Three: Meath v Kildare

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Massive game but in my household there is a bigger game tomorrow as my little daughter has her first game tomorrow at 11am in under 6. I must be going soft in my old age as I'm more excited about her game than meath v kildare
She idolizes joe sheridan. God help me if she throws the ball into net lol.
So hoping for 2 wins tomorrow

Best of luck to herself in that one. May it be the start of many years of enjoyment from the game for her and indeed yourself as the U6's new biggest fan.

Weather forecast isn't great even though it's very pleasant today. Hopefully it will not have a negative effect on the game. Really looking forward to tomorrow evening.

The weather was fine today maybe a little bit gusty, nothing to be worried about as of yet.

Never mind the weather.
Lets get to PT in big numbers tonight.
Should be a serious game and please god the lads will do the business.
This is much more than a simple league game now.
For both sides.

Listened to the game on the radio sounded like a great game, gutted we didn"t get at least a draw BUT we conceded 18 points to a team who are known to be poor in front of goal ! Were kildare on fire upfront or are we just weak in defence ?

Great game. Enjoyable to watch but a pity we couldn't manage to get something. Played very well but to me Kildare seemed to be just the better team. We got the games only goals and still managed to get beat!

Another midfield disaster and didn't win many breaks first half at all. Why Tom Walsh wasn't brought on much sooner I'll never know. Meade and Ward very poor and Kenny very quiet. Kildare showed all the movement, had a extra man in space almost at will. We were well off their pace for long spells.

Despite this the two well worked goals brought us back into the game twice, a game we didn't look like ever winning. Much more spirited second half performance. Stephen Bray despite missing a few frees worked his socks off, Paddy Gilsenan is a gem if he gets a supply of ball and Joe a handful when he came on. If Shane McAnarneys kick had of gone over we may have got at least a draw.

The ref was awful, gave us absolutely nothing, but you would expect that from the fella.

Another loss to the flourbags. It was a very enjoyable game though, despite all the shortcomings and frustration with certain players.

Great game. Showed great spirit to get the goals when it counted. What's with all the punching in midfield? Ref robbed us, particularly at the end with the foul on Geraghty in the square. Have to say we look 10 times better than we did this time last year. Our main problem is midfield and going forward. We seem to run out of ideas and end up either hoofing it into full forward or running into the corner or laterally. Plenty of positives from the game though!

Ref throws another blind eye at the end ,but sure what do we expect ,mickey burke had a smashing game ,was cian ward injuried ? Why was graham reilly switched for gg ? Taught he was playing a blinder. Really disapointed,as the glas man said mid field ,mid field midfield. Such a pity. On the plus side i feel when we fix this leak were on the road again ,it really was the end of us everything else was good ,really good .definetley will back meath to beat them next game i feel were so close and had we got the free at the end. It would have tied it up ,hey did anyone notice 2 lilly boys were cramping out toward the end? Great atmosphere ,great football ,was it as good on the telly ?

With the midfield Banty seems to favour all the time we will never anything they are just deplorable. Our blanket defence also got 18 scores against them if we do win the ball in our own half back line its an ordeal to get it to the full forward line. Why is Bray kicking the frees and not ward i know he did kick a few but the two he missed before half time were very poor attempts.

Have to disagree with the criticism of the midfield thought ward had a decent enough game apart from his distribution which was v bad at times. thought our backs were very loose.need toreally tighten up. think wat lost us the game was swappin the grahams.

He caught very little and late in the second half when we were a point up and he has room to run at them, all he had to do was deliver a decent ball to Joe or Paddy. What does he do, kicks a lame ball very short and with two Kildare lads and none of ours even close. A man beside me was hopping mad with him for most of the game! How many times did Tom Keague come on to the field to have a word in his ear.
